SGS LLC has been awarded two Department of Defense contracts totaling more than $32, 000, 000 in the month of June.

The first of the two contracts consist of constructing a new Collective Arms Training Facility at Fort Polk, Louisiana. This facility will feature a mock city complete with commercial and residential buildings for the training of military troops.

The second contract is to design-build a new Combined Fire/Police Complex located at the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois, a military installation. This facility will provide 20,000 sq ft of new space along with the renovation of the existing station, transforming it into a state-of-the-art facility.

SGS is not new to contracting with the Department of Defense. Recently SGS was one of eight contractors awarded a MACC (Multiple Award Construction Contract) by the U. S. Navy. Most of the funding under this MACC will be used to repair and/or rebuild the areas the Gulf Coast damaged or destroyed as a result of Hurricane Katrina.
