Scope of Work:

 

SGS served as the Prime Contractor / Design-Builder on this 7,694 sq. ft. Early Care and Education Center for the Delaware Tribe of Indians. The facility’s design provides a safe and healthy environment to promote children’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development.

Careful attention was given to the layout of the facility, meeting the needs of the teachers, children, parents and administrators. The floor plan allows wonderful outdoor viewing opportunities with picture windows and glass doors with glass side panels. Counter size refrigerators are provided in both the infant and toddler rooms for bottles and food storage, taking health and sanitary conditions into consideration. Cubbyholes and backpack storage is provided at appropriate heights for each classroom and is easily accessible by the children and adults.

The lobby/reception desk is an open area for administrative space and information displayed to keep parents informed, as well as display arts and crafts made by the children.  An important exterior feature is the porte-cochere that protects parents, children, and visitors from inclement weather.  Specific areas of the facility include:

This Child Development Center includes High Performance and Sustainable Building features and is ADA compliant.
