The scope of work for this two (2) story Fire and Police Station Complex included the design and renovation of the existing (historic) Fire Station and the design and construction of a new Police Station addition at the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois.

The exterior of the building consists of brick, split-face CMU, and gables. Supporting features include a retaining wall, emergency generator, site utilities and services, storm water drainage system, parking, paving, access drives, sidewalks, exterior lighting, and security fencing.


The renovation and addition were compliant with the installation’s designation as a National Historic Landmark, and SGS coordinated with the Illinois State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) throughout the design and construction process.
