Transportation Maintenance Building
Scope of Work:
SGS was the Prime Contractor on this new 6,075 sq. ft. Transportation Maintenance Building for the Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribes’ Department of Transportation. The facility supports a wide range of needs for the Tribe by providing in-house maintenance capabilities, including inspection, lubrication, preventative maintenance for all Tribal government vehicles. The facility includes three (3) areas - Fueling Station, Vehicle Maintenance, and Administrative.
The Fueling Station includes a fueling area with a canopy, two (2) fueling pumps, and two (2) 5,000 gallon underground tanks.
The Vehicle Maintenance area includes three (3) shop offices, two (2) drive-thru maintenance bays, four (4) automatic 16’x14’ overhead doors, two (2) overhead power reels with lights, service pit area, oil/water separator, floor drain, trench drain, sump pump, tire changing and wheel balancing area, tire/tube test tank, eyewash station; sealed concrete flooring, locker room; laundry facility, restroom, galvanized steel stairs and railing that lead to a 1,017 sq. ft. Mezzanine, which houses the HVAC equipment.
The Administrative area includes a vestibule, lobby/reception/waiting area, seven (7) administrative offices, a conference room with service area and smartboard, copy/workroom, kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, and range, plan room, storage room, men and women restrooms, and a janitor closet. Automatic Dyson Blade hand dryers and touchless faucets were used in restroom facilities for increased sanitation measures.
The exterior building structure consists of a pre-engineered metal building, standing seam metal roof, metal wall panels, exterior high brick wainscot, painted CMU walls, canopy covered storefront, and a continuous gutter and downspout system.
Site amenities included site development, erosion control, onsite/offsite utilities, fire hydrant, storm drain system, backflow preventer and vault, water detention, heavy duty concrete and asphalt paving, parking for 27 vehicles, concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters, security fencing around the entire site, two (2) automatic gate openers, card readers, exterior security cameras, and an intrusion detection system.
